Ann Wilson’s Husband Sentenced for Assault on Nancy Wilson’s Children

Dean Wetter, the husband to Heart singer Ann Wilson, has been sentenced for the assault on Nancy Wilson’s children.

He was arrested last year after striking one of Nancy’s kids during a disagreement on a tour bus, while Heart performed at the Amphitheater in Auburn, Washington.

According to SeattlePI.com, Wetter plead guilty on March 9th to two counts of fourth-degree assault. He was sentenced on April 14th to 364 days in jail. This was part of a plea deal that keeps him from going behind bars. The agreement includes restitution, two years probation, counseling, and a ban on contact with Nancy’s children.

Though this incident has now been settled, it is very unlikely that we see a Heart reunion in the future, if at all.

Branstad Signs Laws Restricting Distracted Driving in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Gov. Terry Branstad has signed into law enhanced penalties involving the use of cellphones while driving.

Branstad signed the bills Monday surrounded by law enforcement. Both pieces of legislation take effect July 1.

One law determines that a driver who uses a cellphone and causes the death of another person has shown evidence of reckless driving and could face a felony conviction that includes up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. The law also establishes a 24/7 sobriety and drug monitoring program for drivers.

The other law will allow officers to pull over drivers specifically for texting. It was previously a secondary offense, which meant an officer needed another reason to make a traffic stop.

Texting drivers would face a $30 fine.

Police Use Carrots To Capture Loose Horse

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best solutions. What do you do when a horse gets loose and enjoys a nice gallop around Philadelphia? Get out the carrots.

Authorities used some veggies to attract the horse, calm it down, and get it inside a trailer. It’e believed the animal escaped from the city’s Fairmount Park stables, but officials haven’t commented.

Pranksters Getting Sued Over Morning Show Appearances

Gray Television Group Inc does not appreciate a prank. In case you missed it, the parent company of two Wisconsin morning shows is suing Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett for appearing on the shows as “imagined characters.”

The duo, who are the creators of the Found Footage Festival, appeared on “Hello Wisconsin” as “Strongman duo Chop & Steele,” where they smashed rackets on the floor and hit a tire with a bat. According to Gray’s suit, Prueher and Pickett performed “ridiculous bits” to promote their own brand.

What’s more, Prueher appeared on another show as “Chef Keith Guerke,” who was promoting “Leftovers Right: Making a Winner of Last Night’s Dinner,” a cookbook that doesn’t exist. One of the recipes? Mashed-potato ice-cream cones.

Gray Television Group is accusing the pair of fraud and conspiracy to commit wrongful activity. What’s more, the footage of the duo’s pranks have been shown as part of their festival, which breaks copyright law. .

Man Takes His Tiger Out For A Walk

Shoppers at a mall in Russia were in for the surprise of a lifetime when they spotted a man walking a tiger on a leash. Video of the incident has surfaced and luckily, the videographer got some details.

Apparently, the tiger is named Katya and the man walking the animal is a trainer from the circus. Still, no explanation as to why exactly the trainer had to walk the animal through a crowded shopping center, but apparently the stunt got a lot of attention.

“I was not the only one who was surprised,” the person who posted the video explains. “There were so many people around with cameras on mobile phones, children and adults watched with interest.”

Fake cop pulls over real cop:

Pacheco Bustamante wanted to play police officer. Unfortunately, he’s a 46-year-old man who was packing a BB gun when he pulled over a driver in Miami. Even worse for Bustamante, the nondescript car he targeted belonged to a real police detective. After figuring out Bustamente wasn’t an actual cop, the actual detective arrested him. Bustamante eventually admitted to police this wasn’t his first time playing cop and he was ultimately charged with impersonating an officer, which is a felony in Florida.

Woman finds intruder in her home…enjoying her food:

A woman in Gainesville, Florida came home from work to find an intruder with a real appetite. Ronald Gregory Wesly was in her home, frying chicken and enjoying some of her vodka. It turns out the 34-year-old has a criminal history, including two prior theft convictions, but it appears this is the first time he decided to enjoy a meal on the job. Wesly’s now facing a new burglary charge.

ICYMI: Cow costumes stolen:

Someone must really love Chick-fil-A…or at least their marketing campaigns. In case you missed it, authorities in Folsom, California are looking for whoever stole three cow mascot costumes from a local Chick-fil-A storage shed. James Daack, the store’s hospitality director, is hoping it’s a prank and the thieves return the costumes without a problem. The incident has gotten plenty of media attention so Police Sergeant Andrew Bates figures the crooks will turn themselves in…or at least return the cow costumes because “It’s not like somebody can dress up for Halloween in that.”

Suspect in Iowa Slaying Picked Up Near Canadian Border

JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say customs officials near the Canadian border have taken into custody a man suspected of fatally shooting his girlfriend in a suburb of Des Moines.

The man was picked up Sunday at International Falls, Minnesota. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials recognized his car from information in a release put out by police in Johnston, Iowa, where the slaying occurred.

Police say the man has yet to be formally charged.

The victim’s been identified as 34-year-old Agnes Yarlee. She was found wounded Saturday night by officers sent to investigate several reports about gunshots at an apartment complex. Police say she died at the scene.

On this day in 1975, after rumors that Jimmy Page, Steve Marriott, Jeff Beck or Chris Spedding would replace Mick Taylor as guitarist in The Rolling Stones, a press release confirmed that Ronnie Wood would be joining the band for their forthcoming American tour.

Before The Stones, Wood had played with the Jeff Beck Group as a bassist and was the guitarist for The Faces.

Wood has been with The Stones ever since. Along with releasing material with the band, he has also released seven solo albums.

United Airlines Passenger Gets Stung By Scorpion

United Airlines can’t catch a break. Just days after the airline came under fire for the way it savagely handled a customer on an overbooked flight, another passenger was in need of medical attention after traveling on United. This time though, it was a scorpion that did the damage. That’s right, a scorpion.

Richard Bell was on a United flight from Houston to Calgary when he was stung by a scorpion that had fallen from an overhead bin. Cabin staff contacted a doctor on the ground who gave directions on how to help the man. According to United, the man’s injuries are not life threatening.

No word on how exactly a scorpion made its way on board.

Firefighters Had To Rescue A Cat And Its Owner After They Both Got Stuck

We’ve heard plenty of stories of firefighters having to rescue cats that get stuck in a tree. Humans who get stuck in a tree? That’s less likely. A woman in Topeka, Kansas climbed up to try and rescue her pet…but ended up getting stuck herself.

Eventually, authorities came and were able to rescue both the feline and her owner from 16-feet up in the tree. Her name isn’t being released, which she’s probably thankful for.

Woman arrested while wearing a very fitting t-shirt:

Ladion Logan is not only a criminal, but a bad mom, too. The 31-year-old was arrested after she crashed into a parked car while drunk…with her six-year-old son in the back of the car. When police arrived, Logan did not go quietly but at least her son was uninjured. Logan’s now facing drunk driving, resisting arrest, and endangering the welfare of a child charges. Oh, and she was arrested while wearing a shirt that reads “support your local bartender.”

Someone tried to steal from a Walmart by shooting at locks:

Authorities in Bend, Oregon are looking for the man who used his gun to try and steal electronics from the local Walmart. The man walked into the store and fired two rounds in the electronics department, reportedly to break the locks so he could get his hands on the more expensive stuff. He fled empty handed but the store was put on lockdown just in case he tried to come back.

Thieves steal gold bars from inside a parked car:

A 52-year-old woman in Bad Radkersburg, Austria left 12 gold bars unattended in her parked car. She told authorities she was planning on using the bars, which are worth around $124-thousand, in a real estate deal. Clearly someone didn’t want that deal to go through because by the time the woman got back to her car, the gold had been stolen. No word on why regular old cash wasn’t an acceptable form of payment.

As Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie prepare to release their new album, the duo has put out their first track “In My World”.

The song has a Fleetwood Mac feel, which isn’t surprising since the album originally was to be the follow-up to the band’s last album, Tango in the Night. The album includes John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, leaving Stevie Nicks as the only former Mac member not on the album.

On this day in 1973, David Bowie released his sixth studio album, Aladdin Sane. The name of the album is a pun on “A Lad Insane”.

The album was Bowie’s follow-up to his breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Aladdin Sane included two hit singles “The Jean Genie” and “Drive-In Saturday”.

Bob Seger System’s First Single Will Be Rereleased on Record Store Day

Record Store Day has snagged another classic record for April 22nd.

2+2=?, the first single from Bob Seger System will return to vinyl for the first time in nearly 40 years.

The new vinyl single was remastered from the analog tapes and will have a limited-edition yellow disc. After those are sold out, a standard black vinyl will hit stores.

Third Man Records released a press release, stating the record was manufactured at the company’s new pressing plant in Detroit.

After 57 Years, “Paperboy” Retires

At 87, Mel Rulison is hardly a boy. Regardless, he’s the best paperboy in Gloversville, New York and after 57-years of delivering the Leader-Herald, Mel is retiring.

While it’s impossible to know exactly how many copies Mel has delivered, it’s expected to be more than 5-million.

While Mel definitely takes the cake of most loyal employee, the “Leader-Herald” has a few very dedicated delivery men. Jerry Blowers is the next most senior member of the team, with 21-years of handing out papers.

You Can Drink Beer Made From Baseball Bat Shavings At Atlanta Braves Games

Atlanta’s new home of the Braves, SunTrust Park opens tomorrow and they’ll be giving fans the chance to taste baseball like never before. Thanks to the Terrapin Beer Company from nearby Athens, Georgia, a brand new beer called “Chopsecutioner” will be on tap. And it’s aged on wood from real Mizuno baseball bats.

“There’s some waste from bats from when they spin them down or carve them down,” explains Terrapin brewmaster Brian “Spike” Buckowski.” “And that’s the product that we use to age the beer.”

Chopsecutioner is only 5% alcohol by volume, so it’s ideal for sipping in the sun at a game. And it’ll be on draft for the entire Braves’ 2017 season, but there are no plans for “expansion” – you’ll have to head to SunTrust Park to taste it yourself.

TV Show Asks Men To Decide Whether Women Are Pregnant Or Fat

Did you think only America had absurd game shows? Nope. In fact, the Netherlands may have us beat. In case you missed it, the most recent episode of “Neem Je Zwemspullen Mee,” which translates to “Bring Your Bathing Suit,” featured a segment where groups of men decided whether a woman brought on stage was pregnant or fat.

What’s more, the episode also asked the teams to decide whether or not the women standing in front of them had breast implants or not. The backlash was swift and fierce, with one reviewer calling it “embarrassing” and a viewer pointing out that since the show is on public service broadcasting, her taxes are funding “Bring Your Bathing Suit.”

This isn’t the first time “Bring Your Bathing Suit” made the news. During its first season last year, there contestants were asked to guess whether people where Japanese or Chinese. For what it’s worth, the company behind the show claims the point is to show “how you can go wrong if someone evaluates his or her appearance.” Whatever you say.

Man wearing NRA shirt gets drunk, points gun at his former neighbor:

The second amendment doesn’t protect you from being an idiot. Mario Williams must not have known that when he pulled a gun on his former neighbor at grocery store…while wearing an NRA shirt. It’s unclear what the two men were arguing about before the 58-year-old got his weapon involved, but the Connecticut man was drunk at the time, which won’t help his case. Williams now faces reckless endangerment, threatening, and carrying a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs charges.

Child steals his dad’s truck to drive his sister to McDonald’s:

An eight-year-old in Palestine, Ohio drove his four-year-old sister to get a Big Mac at a McDonald’s a half mile from where their parents slept. He drove the car up to the drive-thru, where understandably concerned employees called police. It turns out the little guy had watched YouTube tutorials on how to drive before taking his sister on this dangerous mission. The kids did get to eat their McDonald’s while they waited for their grandparents to pick them up. Charges haven’t been filed at this point.

Driver in hot water for fixing his car with wood and chicken wire:

In a life imitates Red Green story, A driver in Quebec found out the hard way sometimes it’s best to just cough up the money for a good mechanic. After being stopped by police, it was discovered the 28-year-old driver had no proof of insurance and an open beer in the front seat. To makes matters worse, his car’s suspension was held in place by wooden logs and chicken wire. Aside from paying for the car being to be towed, the driver will also have to pay a $481 ticket for open alcohol, failing to have insurance documents, and various safety infractions.
