On this day in 1968, The Beatles Magical Mystery Tour started an eight-week run at No.1 on the US album chart, the group’s 11th US chart topper. The album was released as a Double EP in the states and included six new Beatles songs. The album was released as the soundtrack to the 1967 film of the same name.
The album has been Certified 6× Platinum in the U.S. by the RIAA.
