Rhino Reveals Release Of Limited Edition Titles For Record Store Day Black Friday

Rhino has revealed the release of limited edition titles for Record Store Day Black Friday on November 28th.

This year, Rhino’s RSD Black Friday features 35 exclusive albums from their diverse roster of artists.

Highlights include vinyl releases from The Doors, Matchbox Twenty, Son Volt, and Van Halen, a Rhino Reserve title from Curtis Mayfield, a Devo picture disc, 12-inch releases from A-ha and boxed sets from Dwight Yoakam and Love.

These titles will be available on November 28th at participating indie music retailers.

Born on this day in 1951 – American singer and songwriter, John ‘Cougar’ Mellencamp, who had the 1982 US No.1 and UK No.25 single ‘Jack And Diane’, and the 1982 US No.1 album American Fool. He has had fourteen top 20 hits in the United States and holds the record for the most tracks by a solo artist to hit No.1 on the US Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks Chart, and has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, winning one, as Best Male Rock Performer for ‘Hurts So Good’.

Def Leppard To Receive Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce will honor Def Leppard with a star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The English rock band will be honored with the 2,825th star on October 9 at 11:30 am PT at 1750 N. Vine Street in front of the historic Capitol Records Building. Def Leppard will receive their star in the category of Recording.

Sirius XM radio personality Bob Buchmann will perform as MC. Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Resnikoff, President & CEO of UME, will be joining him as guest speakers.

Responding to the news, the band said, “Honored to share that we will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on October 9, courtesy of the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce. None of this would be possible without YOU. Thank you”.

Def Leppard — Joe Elliott (vocals), Phil Collen (guitar), Rick Savage (bass), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and Rick Allen (drums) — have sold more than 110 million albums worldwide and won two prestigious Diamond Awards in the U.S.

Oasis Announce 25th Anniversary Reissue Of Live Album ‘Familiar To Millions’

Britpop legends Oasis have announced they will reissue their Wembley Stadium live album, Familiar To Millions, in celebration of the record’s 25th anniversary.

The recording of their iconic July 21 2000 show at the London venue was released in November of that year, marking Oasis’ first-ever official live album.

The band made the announcement close on the heels of their triumphant comeback jaunt, which recently wrapped its U.K. leg with seven sold-out nights at Wembley Stadium.

The Familiar To Millions reissue will arrive on November 14 via Big Brother Recording. It will be available on vinyl, with exclusive limited edition 3LP variants including silver vinyl available via the Official Oasis Store, red and black marble through Amazon, and a blue vinyl edition with alternate sleeve artwork from HMV.

Born on this day in 1954 – Stevie Ray Vaughan

Born on this day in 1954 – American musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan frontman of the blues rock trio Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. He was one of the most influential guitarists in the revival of blues in the 1980s. Vaughan played guitar on six of the tracks on David Bowie’s album Let’s Dance, including the title track and ‘China Girl’. Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash on August 27th 1990 age 35. His family successfully sued the company’s operators for allowing an unqualified pilot to fly in fog, and was awarded $2 million (£1.2 million). In the months that followed his death, Vaughan sold over 5.5 million albums in the United States.

Rhino’s Rocktober returns this year with 43 exclusive, limited-edition vinyl releases. Kicking off October 3, new titles will be released each Friday.

Rocktober 2025 features releases by iconic Warner Music artists such as Black Sabbath, The Doors, Ministry, New York Dolls, Sex Pistols, Type O Negative, and many more.

All releases will be available exclusively at select brick-and-mortar retail stores while supplies last. For a list of participating retailers, visit recordstoreday.com/Stores.

The first set of vinyl releases include Deep Purple’s Made In Japan (Steven Wilson Remix) and Sex Pistols’ Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk will be released on October 10.
