On this day in 2001 – Guitarist Don Felder was fired from the Eagles. He would later launch a $50 million law suit against drummer Don Henley and guitarist Glen Frey, alleging wrongful termination and breach of implied-in-fact contract. Henley and Frey then countersued Felder for breach of contract, alleging that Felder had written and attempted to sell the rights to a “tell-all” book. Both parties settled out-of-court for an undisclosed amount.

Bon Jovi To Release 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Of Self-Titled Debut Album
Iconic band Bon Jovi are set to release a deluxe edition of their self-titled debut album to commemorate its 40th anniversary.
The digital edition of Bon Jovi: Deluxe Edition dropped on all streaming platforms via Island/Ume on Wednesday, January 24.
Additionally, an exclusive limited-edition ruby color vinyl LP on March 24 and limited-edition cassette on April 5.
Bon Jovi: Deluxe Edition consists of the remastered original album in addition to a total of nine bonus tracks, including unreleased studio recordings and four rare live cuts.
Jon Bon Jovi co-produced Bon Jovi: Deluxe Edition alongside longtime sound engineer Obie O’Brien, who also mixed the bonus material.
The live tracks were recorded during the group’s 1985 shows in Tokyo, which were first available on the CD release Bon Jovi: Special Edition in 2010.

Billy Joel To Perform At 2024 Grammys Following Release Of New Single
The Recording Academy has announced that Billy Joel will perform at the 2024 Grammys.
The Academy announced the five-time Grammy-winning Piano Man will take the stage at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4.
He joins previously announced performers Billie Eilish, Burna Boy, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo, and Travis Scott.
Joel, who has been nominated for a wildly impressive 23 total Grammys, released “Turn the Lights Back On,” his first new single in decades, on February 1.
Additional performers will be announced in the coming days.
Trevor Noah returns to host the Grammys for the fourth consecutive year.
The 66th Grammy Awards will broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on the CBS Television Network and will be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Prior to the telecast, the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will broadcast live from the Peacock Theater at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on live.GRAMMY.com.

U2 To Perform From Sphere In Las Vegas During 2024 Grammys
22-time Grammy-winning legends U2 have been announced as performers at the 2024 Grammys.
It will mark the first-ever broadcast performance from Sphere in Las Vegas, a first-of-its-kind, technologically groundbreaking venue. The event will also feature a special awards presentation.
The performance expands on U2’s pioneering, record-setting run of their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live At Sphere residency, which has ushered in a new era of live entertainment innovation since launching last year.
U2 now join a stacked lineup of 2024 Grammys performers, which includes Burna Boy, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo, and Travis Scott.
Additional performers will be announced in the coming days and weeks.

Born on this day in 1937 – Ray Sawyer, singer, songwriter with American rock band Dr Hook who had the 1970s hits ‘The Cover of Rolling Stone’, ‘A Little Bit More’, ‘When You’re in Love with a Beautiful Woman’ and ‘Sylvia’s Mother’. Sawyer died on 31 December 2018 aged 81.

Born on this day in 1946 – Terry Kath, guitarist with Chicago who had the 1976 UK & US No.1 single ‘If You Leave Me Now’. Kath accidentally shot himself dead on January 23rd 1978. His last words were, “Don’t worry it’s not loaded” as he put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger. The guitarist and singer was killed instantly. Chicago have had five consecutive No.1 albums on the Billboard chart and 20 top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Alice Cooper To Release Deluxe Edition Of ‘Billion Dollar Babies’ For 50th Anniversary
In celebration of the album’s 50th anniversary, Alice Cooper is set to release Billion Dollar Babies (Trillion Dollar Deluxe Edition) on 2 CD and 3 LP on March 8th via Rhino.
Billion Dollar Babies was Cooper’s sixth studio album and was released in March 1973 by Warner Bros. Records. It featured hits like “No More Mr. Nice Guy” and “Elected.”
The album became the best-selling Alice Cooper record at the time of its release, hitting No. 1 on the album charts in the United States and the United Kingdom. It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The new edition features a newly remastered version of the original album with bonus material, including studio outtakes and single mixes.
The Trillion Dollar Deluxe Edition also features a live show recorded in Texas in April of 1973 during the Billion Dollar Babies Tour. The performance includes live versions of many of the album’s tracks, with highlights including “Elected” and “Hello Hooray,” along with several of the band’s earlier hits, including “I’m Eighteen” and “School’s Out.”
