Lou Gramm Says This Will Be His Last Year Performing

Original Foreigner singer Lou Gramm has announced that this will be the last year he is performing on stages.

In an interview with Lee Richey, Gramm disclosed that his three-decades-long career of performing live will come to an close by this year’s end.

“This is my last year… I’ve been doing it, jeez, for almost 50 years,” Gramm said. “I would like to turn my attention to my family and my muscle cars and just enjoy myself knowing that when I lay down at night, it’ll be in my own bed.”

“This is gonna be it. I’ve been putting it off and putting it off. And I still enjoy performing, but when you’ve been doing it for as long as I have, the travel is the worst. It really takes its toll . And that’s a sign that you’re getting old,” he added.

Gramm had previously announced his retirement in 2018.

Foreigner has been nominated to the 2024 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Gramm said he would take part in the induction ceremony.

“I’ve heard that we’re going to play a song or two (if inducted),” Gramm said. “And I was told that I would be singing.”

Peter Gabriel Joins Sheryl Crow On Cover Of His ‘Digging In The Dirt’

Sheryl Crow recently released her cover version of Peter Gabriel’s song “Digging in the Dirt.”

“Digging in the Dirt” is the latest single from Crow’s upcoming album, Evolution, which is set for release on March 29. Her cover of the song also features the original artist.

“I was delighted when Sheryl Crow told me she was going to do her own version of Digging In The Dirt. It sounds great – and was a real pleasure to sing along to,” said the former Genesis lead singer.

“I think Sheryl and Mike Elizondo have done a brilliant job putting all this together. It deserves to grow wings,” he added, referring to Crow recording the album with producer Elizondo.

Speaking about selecting the song, Crow says, “Peter’s song is the one that started me on this whole process of making my new album Evolution, the first song I brought to Mike Elizondo. The idea of self-examination to understand our wounds and flaws and how they affect our daily lives really resonated with me, because that process can lead to self-healing.”

“But it can be messy, it feels like digging in the dirt. Peter’s lyrics express that so beautifully, with this just ridiculous groove driving underneath,” she adds. “When he agreed to sing on my cover of ‘Digging In The Dirt,’ it just blew me away, and ironically it ended up being the last song we finished for the album. It’s such an honor to have him perform on this song which really means so much to me, and there is nobody in the world who sings like Peter Gabriel.”
