Asia, (1982 US No 4 & UK No. 46 single ‘Heat Of The Moment’). Has also been a member of The Syndicats, Bodast, Tomorrow and GTR. Released over a dozen solo albums. Howe was voted Best Overall Guitarist in Guitar Player magazine five years in a row (1977-1981).

Foreigner Announce New Farewell Tour Dates With Loverboy, Lita Ford

Foreigner have announced new farewell tour dates with support from Loverboy and Lita Ford on select dates.

The band added 10 new dates for September and October, which will start after the conclusion of the Renegades & Juke Box Heroes tour with Styx and John Waite in August.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public t 10 am local time on Friday, April 5, via Ticketmaster.

Foreigner have already performed nearly 80 shows on their farewell tour, which was launched in July last year.

“Many years ago, I wrote a song called ‘Feels Like the First Time,’ and today we are launching the next leg of our last worldwide tour,” Foreigner co-founder and guitarist Mick Jones said in a statement. “We will be presenting a show that I know will have the same enthusiasm as our very first appearances.”

“The tour started last summer in America, and we hope to get to every place that we have played over the last several years,” he added. “While I’m sure our fans will have mixed feelings about the end of the road for the band, I know our shows are going to delight audiences everywhere.”

The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees are set to play the final shows of their Feels Like The Last Time Farewell Tour residency at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas during October- November.

Pat Benatar, Husband Neil Giraldo Announce ‘Funtastic 2024’ Tour

Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Giraldo have announced they will embark on an extensive “Funtastic 2024 Tour” this summer.

The 21-date tour, which is set to kick off on May 10 with a performance at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California, will have stops in several cities, including Washington D.C., New York, Denver and Las Vegas.

The final concert of the trek is scheduled to take place at the Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, Washington, on August 16.

Benatar is among world’s top ranked female rock stars, having sold over 36 million albums worldwide. Five of her 11 studio albums have sold platinum or better. Several of her hits, including “Heartbreaker,” “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” and “Love Is a Battlefield” are still very popular with generations of fans.

Born on this day in 1952 – Gary Moore

Born on this day in 1952 – Irish guitarist and singer Gary Moore, who was a member of Skid Row and Thin Lizzy. As a solo artist he had the 1979 UK No.8 single ‘Parisian Walkways’. His 1990 album Still Got the Blues featured contributions from Albert King, Albert Collins, and George Harrison. Moore died on 6 February 2011 while on holiday in Spain.

The Who’s Pete Townshend To Release Half Speed Masters Of Two Classic Albums

The Who co-founder Pete Townshend will release half speed masters of two of his classic albums on May 17.

The limited-edition black vinyl versions of All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes and White City (A Novel) are the latest in a series of half speed mastered studio albums from Townshend.

They have been mastered by long-time Who engineer Jon Astley at Close To the Edge and cut for vinyl by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.

Both albums are packaged in their original sleeves with obi strips and certificates of authenticity.

Initially released in June 1982, All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes was Townshend’s third solo album and contained two singles “Uniforms (Corp d’Esprit)” and “Face Dances Part 2.” The track “The Sea Refuses No River” has also been singled out as one of Townshend’s most underrated songs.

White City (A Novel) was Townshend’s next studio album, released in 1985.

A 60-minute long-form video directed by Richard Lowenstein, called White City: The Music Movie starring Townshend, Andrew Wilde and Francis Barber and featuring the singles “Face The Face” and “Give Blood,” was also released and included an interview with Townshend and the bonus song “Night School.”

Born on this day in 1943 – The Band’s Richard Manuel

Born on this day in 1943 – Richard Manuel, Canadian composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist, best known as a pianist, lead singer, and occasional drummer of the Band. He joined Ronnie Hawkins’s backing group, the Hawks when he was 18. The Band had the 1969 US No.25 single ‘Up On Cripple Creek’, and the 1970 UK No.16 single ‘Rag Mama Rag’. Manuel committed suicide on March 1986 after a gig at the Cheek to Cheek Lounge in Winter Park, Florida.

The Pretenders’ ‘Learning To Crawl’ To Be Reissued On Vinyl For 40th Anniversary

To mark the album’s 40th anniversary, The Pretenders will reissue 1984’s Learning To Crawl on crystal clear and standard black vinyl on May 24.

This pressing of Learning To Crawl features the 2018 remastered audio by the album’s original producer, Chris Thomas, on vinyl for the first time.

Learning To Crawl is the Pretenders’ third album, released after a band hiatus which saw the passing of guitarist James Honeyman-Scott and bassist Pete Farndon before recording started. It sees an assortment of guitar and bass players on the record before Robbie McIntosh and Malcolm Foster joined Chrissie Hynde and Martin Chambers, making the band a four-piece.

The album was certified Gold and Platinum in the U.K. and U.S., featuring some of their most loved songs, including “2000 Miles,” “Back on the Chain Gang.”

Born on this day in 1939 – Marvin Gaye

Born on this day in 1939 – Marvin Gaye, singer, songwriter who had a 1968 US No.1 & 1969 UK No.1 single with ‘I Heard It Through The Grapevine’ and a 1982 US No.3 & UK No.4 single with ‘Sexual Healing’. Gaye was a member of the doo-wop group The Moonglows in the late 1950s, and then signed with Motown Records subsidiary, Tamla. He started off as a session drummer, but later ranked as the label’s top-selling solo artist during the 1960s. He was crowned “The Prince of Motown” and “The Prince of Soul”. He was shot dead by his father on April 1st 1984.
