A star-studded group of musicians came out in Seattle earlier this week to help Will Ferrell raise funds for an important cause. The “One Classy Night In Seattle” benefit at the Moore Theater featured such artists as Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Brandi Carlile, with proceeds going to the nonprofit Cancer for College, which provides scholarships to students who survived cancer .
The group played a bunch of covers, including Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire,” The Rolling Stones’ “Sway”, Led Zeppelin’s “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” and more, but the big moment of the night came when, as Ferrell put it, a “local, homegrown kid” joined in. That “kid” was none other than McCready’s bandmate Eddie Vedder who added his tambourine skills to a cover of Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus.” Check out the performance to the right.
