On this day in 1970, Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack and More was released in the US. The triple disc album went gold within two weeks. The album would hit #1 on the Billboard Pop Albums chart.

Woodstock: Music from the Original Soundtrack consisted of select performances from the 1969 Woodstock counterculture festival. The artist included consisted of Canned Heat, Richie Havens, Country Joe McDonald, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Santana, and others. The couple on the album cover are Bobbi Kelly and Nick Ercoline.
