On this day in 2011 – Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler made his debut appearance as a judge on American Idol, during the premiere of the show’s tenth season, (replacing Simon Cowell) and alongside Randy Jackson and fellow new judge Jennifer Lopez. He didn’t inform any of the members of Aerosmith about his new TV career.
