Born on this day in 1955 – American singer, songwriter Pat Dinizio, founder member of The Smithereens. Dinizio also released a number of solo albums. In 2000, DiNizio made an unsuccessful run for the New Jersey seat of the United States Senate, running on the Reform Party ticket. He finished 4th. He died on December 12, 2017.
