On this day in 1945, Rod Stewart was born in Highgate, North London. Stewart got his big break in 1967, when he became the vocalist for the Jeff Beck Group. After Stewart left the band, he started his solo run and joined up with the group The Faces.
Stewart had great success in the US, where he had 16 top ten singles, with four of those hitting #1. He had even greater success in the UK, having six consecutive number one albums in the UK and 62 UK hit singles, which includes 31 that reached the top ten and six of which gained the #1 position.
