BROOKLYN — North Mahaska put another cross country win on its resume Monday dashing to the win at BGM. The flying Warhawks took the first four slots and had eight of the nine runners finish in the top 20. NM won the meet with 20 points.
Asher DeBoef picked up his first victory of the season taking the top spot in 20 minutes 3 seconds with cousin Brayden Veiseth in second in 20:31. Nate Sampson placed third in 20:36 and Lane Harmon was fourth in 20:49. The fifth scoring runner was Ben Yang in 10th. North Mahaska runners Andy Knockel in 12th (23:33); Kincaid Mitchell 16th (24:01); Clay Thompson 19th (24:30). Larry Mohr was 30th in 39:06.
In the girls contest Aly Steil took sixth overall in 27:00 and Vanessa Murphy was 24th in 37:22.
Maddox Wynja won the junior high boy’s race in 10:44. Cain Grandia took 15th in 14:24.
In the latest Class 1A rankings North Mahaska slipped one spot to 10th this week. Harmon continues to be ranked 29th individually.
