We have more information about an incident Wednesday (6/10) when law enforcement had to fish a car out of a pond in Oskaloosa. Oskaloosa Police were called to Edmundson Park shortly before 11am about a car that had gone off the road at 11th Avenue West and South H Street, jumped the curb on to the grass and went into the pond. When crews arrived, the car was still visible, but it went under the surface a short time later. Over an hour later, the car was recovered from the pond. One deceased person and a dead dog were inside the car. The victim has been identified as 81-year-old Marilyn Mueller of Oskaloosa. The Iowa State Patrol continues to investigate. Oskaloosa Police and Fire, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, Mahaska County Emergency Management, Marion County dive team and Pleasantville Fire Department all assisted at the scene.
