Kansas have released a new song, “Jets Overhead,” along with an accompanying music video.
“Jets Overhead” is a track from the band’s upcoming album The Absence of Presence.
“Jets fly overhead, and I can’t hear a word you say / I’ve never seen a look so serious painted on your face,” frontman Ronnie Platt sings in the song’s opening phrases.
The Absence of Presence marks the 16th studio LP from Kansas and their first new music since 2016. The album is due on June 26 and is available for pre-order now.
“‘Jets Overhead’ has become one of my favorite songs on the album,” said guitarist Zak Rizvi. “Tom Brislin wrote some fantastic lyrics, David Ragsdale’s violin solo is absolutely smoking and Ronnie Platt nailed the vocals.”
