They’re going to State. The Oskaloosa High softball team won the Class 4A Region 1 championship Tuesday night (7/16), beating ADM 1-0 in Adel. The Indians were held to just two hits, but managed to score the only run of the game in the fourth inning….driven in by shortstop Maddie Haines. Pitcher Hayle Hacker earned her 20th win of the season with a complete game 7-hit shutout, striking out three. The Indians improve to 25-14 on the season. They will be the seventh seed in the State 4A softball tournament and the Indians will take on North Scott next Tuesday (7/23) at 3pm in Fort Dodge.
Here’s what we know and what is possible.
Tuesday 7/23: Oskaloosa vs. North Scott 2:45pm pregame, first pitch at 3.
If Osky loses on the 23rd, the game on the 24th would be their last at State.
Wed. 7/24: If Osky wins….vs. TBA at 5:15 for pregame and game at 5:30
If Osky loses…vs. TBA at 12:45 for pregame and game at 1pm.
Friday 7/26: If Osky gets to State title game…5:30 pregame and game at 6p.
If Osky plays for 3rd place…4:30pm pregame and game at 5p.
