William Penn’s volleyball team lost a five set match to Mount Mercy last night (10/9) at Penn Gymnasium. Mount Mercy won the first set 25-22, the Statesmen took the next two 25-21 and 28-26, then the Mustangs won the next two sets 25-17 and 15-7. Freshman Corrin Lepper had 19 kills for the Statesmen, who are now 4-7 in the Heart of America Conference and 16-10 overall. The Statesmen are off until Friday night when they play at Culver-Stockton.
William Penn’s soccer teams are on the road today (10/10), playing Mount Mercy in Cedar Rapids. Women’s game at 5, men’s at 7:30.
