Oskaloosa High’s volleyball team gave Pella all it could handle last night (9/25). The Indians won the first set 25-21, before the sixth-ranked Lady Dutch took the next three sets 25-18, 25-13 and 25-21 to win the match. Oskaloosa Coach Jen Comfort liked what she saw from her team.
“I was very proud of the effort that the girls gave and I thought it was a good team effort. I really challenged them on their energy and their effort and I think that came through and it showed with our execution. So definitely proud of the Indians on our side of the net.”
Faith DeRonde had 13 kills and Taylor Wills added 12 for Oskaloosa. Pella was led by senior Emily Holterhaus with 24 kills plus 8 blocks. Oskaloosa’s next game is next Tuesday night at Indianola.
