Kinsey Cook would get the starting started in the 10th minute on an unassisted goal. The Indians would get hot for 5 minutes when Aleeya Cheney would put away a pass from Zoie Verbeek in the 26th minute and again in the 28th minute on an unassisted goal. Cook would finish off the scoring in the 31st minute with an assist from Cheney.
The Indians would continue to have opportunities in the 2nd half, but managed only 1 more goal. Cook would complete her hat trick off a Penalty Kick in the 54th minute.
“This night is always an awesome night as we get to celebrate our Seniors and really focus on them and what they have done for us. We came out a little flat, but quickly took control. It was nice to get the win and score some goals! Hopefully we continue to move forward in the right direction with our last regular season game against Pella Christian and then on to Regionals against Grinnell.”
“The team did a really great job stopping their top scorer, but Emily Lunsford battled her all night and has really stepped up into a new position this year.”
“Huge shout out to the huge crowd we had last night cheering us on!”
The team would like to give a huge congrats to the Seniors and wish them all the luck in the future, but they are excited to finish out the season with them. The seniors include: Brittney DeMoney, Mac McCallum, Haley Lashley, Kinsey Cook, Zoie Verbeek, Emily Grahek and Katrina Elliott.
The Indians last game of the regular season is at home against Pella Christian in a Varsity only match starting at 5:30.
