ARW Now Going By ‘Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman’

Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, and Rick Wakeman, collectively known as ARW, have decided to officially change the name of their band. The offshoot of Yes will now be known as Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman.

In Anderson’s press release, he explained the decision. “It’s very simple: The fans want it, we want it and it’s our right to use the name.” “Yes music is in our DNA.”

Yes is currently lead by Steve Howe, which also includes longtime band contributors Alan White, Geoff Downes and Billy Sherwood.

The official ARW website has already changed its URL to  YESfeaturingARW.com. Also on the page, is a video touting the new name for “the definitive lineup of the greatest progressive rock band ever.” This new tour is set to begin on Aug. 26, with shows continuing in October. Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin & Rick Wakeman Working on ARW Album

ARW, Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman, has mainly existed as a touring unit. That’s about to change, as the former Yes bandmates are working on a studio album.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Anderson announced that in between concerts the band has been working on their first LP.

Anderson believes that it won’t just sound like a Yes album. “It’s very different from anything we’ve done before, which we’re pretty happy about,” he said. “Hopefully breaking new ground, soundwise.”

When asked about releasing the music in today’s industry, Anderson says the band hasn’t really come to any conclusions.

“We don’t know the best way to release them yet,” he said of the songs. “But we’re thinking very positively about new music. If we’re lucky enough to get people playing it on the radio, then great. But if not, we’ve been there many times and we do have many fans all over the world, so we’ve just got to figure out how to release it for them.”
