Youth Outdoor Field Day

$5.00 – $10.00The 13th Annual Youth Outdoor Field Day will be held from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Russell Wildlife Area on Saturday, September 24th. This event is held each fall to provide experiences for kids of all ages to learn about outdoor activities in an outdoor setting. This year, some of the activities will be bowfishing, shotgun shooting, fly rod casting, .22 rifle shooting, outdoor first aid, wilderness survival, retriever dog demonstrations and more.
This year, kids and their families will be able to travel from one activity station to another at their own leisure. You may arrive at the event at any time, then check in if pre-registered or register on the day of the event at the conservation center. Registration forms can be found and downloaded at the Mahaska County Conservation Board’s website www.mahaskaconservation.com. If kids are signed up by Friday, September 9, their registration cost will be $5.00 and will receive a t-shirt and a lunch and one adult lunch. Late registrations after September 9 through the day of the event will be $10.00 and participants will not receive a t-shirt or lunches. All children must be accompanied by an adult at this event. Please dress appropriately for the weather as the event will be held rain or shine.
