June 5, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
freeThe Mahaska County Conservation Board’s Kids’ Fishing Day will take place on Friday, June 5, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at the Russell Wildlife Area.
The event will kick off with registering kids for door prizes some and fishing-related activity stations geared for everyone in the family. Then we will hike to a pond to go fishing. Plaques will be given to the children with the “largest” and “smallest” fish caught at the event.
Bring a plain, light-colored t-shirt to have it silk screened with this year’s KFD logo! Iowa resident fishing licenses will NOT be needed for this event (Free Fishing Weekend). Bring your own pole or borrow one from MCCB. Bait will be provided.
The Russell Wildlife Area is located 4 miles north of Oskaloosa on Hwy. 63 and one mile east on 200th Street. For more information, contact the Mahaska County Conservation Board at (641)673-9327.
