On this day in 1975, Bob Dylan went to #1 on the US chart with his 15th studio album Blood On The Tracks, which was his second US #1 album. The album has become one of Dylan’s all-time best-selling studio releases, with a double-platinum US certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Cheap Trick Working On New Studio Album

Cheap Trick is quickly following up their 2016 release Bang, Zoom, Crazy…Hello.

“We’ve been in the studio working on a new album,” Cheap Trick confirmed today on Twitter. They “hope to have [this as-yet untitled project] completed by spring and released at the beginning of summer 2017.”

Since releasing their last album, the band has been busy. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and toured with Joan Jett and Heart.

With the role the band has been on, look for a tour to go along with the release of their new album.

Baby Born During The Super Bowl Named After Tom Brady

According to Plymouth, Massachusetts couple Sean and Colleen Gaffney, their newborn son helped the Patriots win the Super Bowl. In case you missed it, Colleen was in labor during the game and Sean thought the birth of their child would help turn the came around.

“It was literally the middle of the third quarter,” Colleen explains. “My husband’s like, ‘Now! You have to have this baby so they come back. I was, ‘Really? 25 points?'” Once the 7.7-pound baby boy made his debut, the Patriots made their comeback.

In honor of the momentous occasion, Sean decided the baby should be named Brady in honor of Patriot’s quarterback Tom Brady. Brady Gaffney joins older siblings Knox, Reese, and Quinn, who was named after Sean’s favorite Notre Dame quarterback, Brady Quinn.

Suitcase Has A 10-Thousand Person Wait List

Raden has made a futuristic suitcase. The company’s bags come chock full of features, including a built-in phone charger, a scale so you know how much your bag weighs ahead of check in, and Bluetooth technology that lets you know where the suitcase is when it’s out of sight.

There are two different models, the A22 which begins at $295 and the A28, which will cost you at least $395. Aside from being futuristic, they’re popular amongst celebrities. Oprah Winfrey, Jessica Alba, and Gigi Hadid have all been spotted with Raden luggage.

The only hang up? The wait list is 10-thousand people long. That’s right, 10-thousand people. “It’s hard to forecast demand,” Raden CEO Josh Udashkin says. “We’re extremely humbled.”

Chili’s Lifts Ban On ‘Office’ Character

Second drink for all! Chili’s Bar & Grill has officially lifted it’s ban on “The Office” character Pam Beasley. Back in the second season of the show, Jenna Fischer’s character was banned from the restaurant chain after getting a bit too drunk at a company event there.

Fischer posted a selfie in front of a Chili’s and the chain took notice. They released a statement announcing Pam was allowed back, but also explaining why she was barred in the first place, including when she declared “I feel God in this Chili’s tonight.”

“After reviewing the good conduct of Pam, I have decided to lift the now 11-year ban,” says Kelli Valade, President of Chili’s. “Pam is an inspiration to many and we welcome her with open arms.”

Harambe-shaped Cheeto sells on eBay for nearly $100K

A Cheeto that bears a resemblance to slain gorilla Harambe has sold for nearly $100,000 on eBay.

Bidding on the cheese snack the seller said he found in a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos began at $11.99 on Jan. 28. It ended early Tuesday morning with a winning bid of $99,900. The listing showed a picture of the Cheeto side-by-side with a gorilla climbing a tree.

Harambe was shot dead by handlers at the Cincinnati Zoo after dragging a small boy who had gotten into his enclosure.

Man was drunk driving while wearing lingerie:

Authorities were in for a surprise when they found 51-year-old Daniel Marchese. The Pittsburgh man was going in and out of consciousness in a running car in the middle of an intersection. Marchese was wearing women’s lingerie at the time and left himself exposed to the police. Not surprisingly, officers found an open bottle of whiskey in the car, along with two guns. At one point, Marchese kicked at the officers and threatened them, which certainly didn’t help his situation. He’s now facing charges including drunken driving, indecent exposure, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Man tries to smuggle almost 45-pounds of meth in his gas tank:

A man was stopped at a Salton City, California border patrol checkpoint and authorities felt their was something suspicious about the 19-year-old driver and his car. After a second inspection of the 2010 Ford Fusion, drug sniffing dogs pointed officers to the undercarriage of the car. It turns out the unnamed driver was attempting to smuggle 43.46-pounds of meth in his gas tank. All in all, the drugs have a street value of somewhere near $173,800.

Buddhist monk found in possession of 400K meth pills:

It turns out life at least one Buddhist monastery might not be as peaceful and quiet as you’d imagine. A monk in Myanmar was stopped by police after getting a tip he was driving with illegal substances. They were very right. An anti-drug force found 400-thousand pills in the monk’s car and a subsequent search of his monastery turned up 4.2 million pills along with a grenade and ammunition. The monk has been arrested.

1 Man Killed, 1 Wounded In Des Moines Shooting, Police Say

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Police say one man has died and another has been wounded in a Des Moines shooting.

Officers sent to investigate a possible homicide around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday found a man’s body on a sidewalk. They soon learned that a man wounded in the same shooting had driven himself to a hospital. He’s expected to survive his injuries.

The men’s names haven’t been released.

Sgt. Paul Parizek (puh-REE’-zihk) says investigators don’t think the shooting occurred where the body was found.

Toto Working On 40th Anniversary Album & Tour

Steve Lukather, the guitarist for Toto, has confirmed that the band is working on a new album and will go on a “large-scale tour” to mark its 40th anniversary.

Lukather recently talked to Backstage Axxess. “We’re working on material for our 40th anniversary. It’s pretty good,” he said. “We’re making new music, then we’re going to do a 40th-anniversary tour for the next two years. It’s going to be busy for the next few years.”

During the interview, Lukather discussed his issues, or non-issues, with former singer Bobby Kimball. Kimball left Toto when they split in 2008 and didn’t return when they regrouped two years later. Joseph Williams took over on vocals, as he’d done when Kimball had left in the ‘80s.

“I haven’t seen Bobby in seven or eight years,” Lukather said. “I don’t have any bad feelings. The press gets hold of this stuff. They want to make it seem we all hate each other. I love the guy. I have no bad vibe at all. Peace and love. I’m getting too old to harbor grudges – I’m not like that.”

The two-year tour hasn’t been officially announced, but Toto has confirmed a run of European shows from July 28 through Aug. 12 for this year.

Win A Six-Bedroom House For $2.50

Strapped for cash but in the market for a new house? Dunstan Low may be your man. The 37-year-old is struggling to find a buyer for his six-bedroom manor house in Lancashire, England so now he’s raffling it off.

“After lovingly renovating our house between 2011 and 2012 we have struggled to pay the mortgage,” Low explains, “and have tried but failed to sell the property through traditional routes and we would like to avoid repossession.”

The house is currently on the market for around $810-thousand, but a raffle ticket only costs $2.50 a pop. If the house sells prior to August 1st, all the money raised will become the prize money for the winning raffle ticket.

The best part? It seems like the contest is open US citizens.

Two Of The Same Exact Cars, Down To The License Plate, End Up Parked Next To Each Other

A driver walked back to her car in a Warwickshire, England parking lot and found an identical vehicle parked right next to hers. The model, color, and even license plate were exactly the same.

The unidentified driver called police who explained the other Ford Kuga had been stolen last year and in order to mask the crime, a fake plate copying a genuine one was made. It was coincidence the cars ended up next to each other, though.

The stolen car also had several items connected with recent burglaries inside and now authorities are investigating further.

French Presidential Candidate Is Using A Hologram At Some Of His Campaign Stops

Jean-Luc Melenchon is looking to the future when it comes to his presidential campaign in France. This weekend, he managed to be in two places at once thanks to hologram technology.

While he appeared at a rally in Lyon, his image was projected by satellite to crowds in Paris. Not everyone approved of the politician’s stunt. Critics called it a “headline-grabbing gimmick.”

Woman tries to buy a house with a forged $1.2-million check:

If you’re going to forge a check, it’s best to start small. Katherine Kempson decided to dive right in when she forged a $1.2-million check to try and buy a Dillsburg, Pennsylvania house. The 49-year-old is also accused of writing a bad check for $60,000 to a real estate agency as part of the intended purchase. Kempson is now facing forgery and bad check charges.

Man had smoked so much pot in his car that police could smell it on the highway:

Police didn’t have to do much work to find Jeffrey Chandler. The 48-year-old British man had allegedly smoked so much marijuana in his car that as he cruised down the highway, a nearby cop car smelled the weed through their car’s vents. Once Chandler was pulled over, roadside testsalso allegedly showed a “staggeringly high level of cocaine use.” Ultimately, Chandler was given a four-month jail sentence, a rehabilitation requirement, a three-month night-time curfew and a 30-month driving ban.

Barbie bandit is on the loose:

A woman says she’s in shock after discovering thieves broke into her Calgary, Canada and stole her international Barbie collection. All in all, Brandi Boothman says her 36 dolls were worth somewhere near $2-thousand. She’s hoping someone will see the Barbies up for sale and contact police.

William Penn Third at McKendree Baker Event

Fairview Heights, Ill.–The Statesmen men’s bowling team used contributions from everyone to post a strong performance at the McKendree Baker Challenge Saturday and Sunday.

William Penn placed third out of 20 teams with 7,819 pins in 10 sets of Bakers, while Webber International (Fla.) won qualifying with 8,111 pins. The weekend served as a preview to postseason play for WPU as the xBowling Team Sectionals and Nationals are contested entirely in Baker format.

Unfortunately, the third-seeded Statesmen were upset by #6 Lindenwood 2-1 in the quarterfinals of bracket play. #2 seed Wichita State defeated Webber International in the championship round.

Team members included Quincy Bruce (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, General Accounting), David Decker (Fr., Peyton, Colo., Physical Education), Stian Hoff (Sr., Orkanger, Norway, General Accounting), Ryan Howard (Sr., King, N.C., Industrial Technology), Bret Keimig (Jr., Davenport, Iowa, Physical Education), Curtis Majka (Jr., Elgin, Ill., Mechanical Engineering), Lucas Perdieu (Sr., DeWitt, Iowa, General Accounting), and Nick Walker (So., Zeeland, Mich., Business Management).

WPU had a JV squad in action as well and the Statesmen finished sixth out of 15 squads in the JV standings with 7,184 pins.

Judge Denies Bobby Blotzer ‘Ratt’ Name In Trademark Case

A Federal Judge has made his decision on the Ratt name fiasco. Bobby Blotzer came out on the wrong side of the decision again. The judge sided with the other three surviving original members, denying Blotzer’s request for reconsideration.

At the heart of the matter was whether or not Juan Croucier had been kicked out of the band prior to their 1997 reunion. Blotzer had claimed that Croucier’s dismissal paved the way for the transfer of the band’s name to WBS, a group formed in 1997 by Pearcy, DeMartini and Blotzer.

U.S. District Judge Dean D. Pregerson ruled that, per the band’s Partnership Agreement, Croucier could only be fired with unanimous consent from the other members, which had not been granted by guitarist Warren DeMartini. In addition, Pearcy claimed that he neither discussed firing Croucier with Blotzer nor saw the letter sent to Croucier informing him that he was no longer in the band. Croucier’s non-involvement in the reunion, it was ruled, was voluntary and he had never given up his stake in the Partnership Agreement. Therefore, Blotzer’s long-standing claim that WBS owns the rights to the band’s name was denied.

The decision was timed perfectly. Ratt, consisting of Pearcy, DeMartini and Croucier — with Carlos Cavazo on guitar — are set to resume performing on Feb. 11 at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Welch, Minn. They are also booked to headline the M3 Rock Festival in Columbia, Md. on April 29, with other shows at Rocklahoma in Pryor, Okla. (Memorial Day Weekend) and Rock Fest in Cadot, Wisc. (July 12).

New music from Ratt is also in the works. Last month, Pearcy said that he and DeMartini have been writing and recording demos. Their last record was 2010’s Infestation.
