John Fogerty Celebrates 80th Birthday In 2025 With Performances, Honors

Grammy Award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer John Fogerty will celebrate his 80th birthday on May 28 – a milestone marking a lifetime of groundbreaking contributions to popular music – and he plans to celebrate all year long.

This week, Fogerty hit SXSW for a show at Stubb’s BBQ on March 11, followed by a Keynote conversation with Tom Morello on March 12.

On April 24, Fogerty will give a headlining performance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans, and just days later will be honored at the 2025 American Music Honors, hosted by the Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in New Jersey. The April 26 event is hosted by Brian Williams and will feature presenters Bruce Springsteen, Nils Lofgren, Patti Scialfa, and Stevie Van Zandt.

In June, Fogerty will return to Glastonbury for his first performance at the legendary festival in nearly twenty years. On July 6, he will headline the Hollywood Bowl.

Don Felder Announces New Album ‘The Vault – Fifty Years Of Music’

Renowned guitarist and songwriter Don Felder has announced that his highly anticipated studio album, The Vault – Fifty Years Of Music, is set for release on May 23 via Frontiers Music Srl.

The former Eagles guitarist also shared the first single, “Free At Last,” and its lyric video.

Talking about the new single, Felder said: “This song is a heartfelt tribute to the freedom that awaits us beyond this life. It’s about shedding the burdens of this world, and finding peace in the promise that, one day, we will all be Free At Last.”

Felder’s fourth solo album marks a unique milestone in his career, offering a stunning collection of newly recorded versions of songs originally demoed over a span of five decades.

From the album opener, “Move On,” a song from 1974, to “I Like the Things You Do,” written in 2023, The Vault offers a comprehensive look at Felder’s rich musical history.

A roster of musical giants has lent their talents to the project . Felder is joined by David Paich, Steve Lukather, Joseph “Joe” Williams, Greg Phillinganes of Toto, and renowned drummers such as Greg Bissonette, Brian Tichy, Todd Sucherman, plus Timothy Drury, Nathan East, Nina Winter and Lenny Castro, among others.

The Vault also includes a newly re-recorded version of “Heavy Metal,” Felder’s classic hit from his 1983 debut album Airborne and the soundtrack of the 1981 animated film of the same name.

On this day in 1968 – The Rolling Stones begin recording ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’

On this day in 1968 – The Rolling Stones started recording their next single ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’ with new producer Jimmy Miller at Olympic studios in London. Keith Richards has stated that he and Jagger wrote the lyrics while staying at Richards’ country house, where they were awakened one morning by the sound of gardener Jack Dyer walking past the window. When Jagger asked what the noise was, Richards responded, “Oh, that’s Jack – that’s jumpin’ Jack.”

Pink Floyd Share Trailer For Restored ‘Pompeii’ Concert Film

Pink Floyd recently shared a trailer for their upcoming restored Pompeii concert film.

Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, the groundbreaking 1972 film directed by Adrian Maben, returns to cinemas in Spring 2025 digitally re-mastered in 4K from the original 35mm footage, with enhanced audio newly mixed by Steven Wilson.

Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision will release the concert film in select cinemas and IMAX worldwide from April 24, and tickets are on sale at https://www.pinkfloyd.film/

Nick Mason, the 81-year-old drummer and founder member of the progressive rock band, said, “Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii is a rare and unique document of the band performing live in the period prior to The Dark Side Of The Moon.”

The remastered concert film is accompanied by a live album, set for release on CD, Digital Audio and in Dolby Atmos and on vinyl on May 2.

Heart Announce 2025 ‘An Evening With Heart’ U.S. Tour Dates

Heart have announced a new 2025 U.S. tour, called “An Evening With Heart.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers’ “An Evening with Heart” shows will feature the band performing two separate sets each night.

The tour kicks off on May 31 at the Hard Rock in Atlantic City and is currently scheduled to conclude on June 28 in Hollywood, Florida. Tickets are on sale now.

Meanwhile, Heart recently launched its Royal Flush tour, with special guest Cheap Trick, on February 28 in Las Vegas. The tour was originally supposed to take place in 2024 but was postponed after Ann Wilson announced she was diagnosed with cancer.

“Chemo is no joke,” the singer later declared. “It takes a lot out of a person.”

Eric Clapton Announces Return To U.S. For Limited Run Of 2025 Tour Dates

Eric Clapton has announced that he will return to the United States for a limited run of 2025 tour dates.

The tour begins at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on September 8 and will continue for five additional dates, making stopping at Cleveland’s Rocket Arena, Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center, Boston’s TD Garden, New York’s Madison Square Garden and Uncasville’s Mohegan Sun Arena.

Tickets will be available starting with local presale on Thursday at 10 am local, followed by general on sale on Friday at 10 am local.

The tour comes on the heels of the release of Eric’s recent studio album, Meanwhile, from Bushbranch/Surfdog Records. The album is available in all formats at https://orcd.co/ecmeanwhile

The album includes six brand new songs and eight previously released singles, featuring collaborations with Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Bradley Walker, Judith Hill, Daniel Santiago, and Simon Climie.
