The Who Announce North American Farewell Tour

The Who have announced their bittersweet final tour of the U.S. and Canada as a truly grand finale of their illustrious six-decade career.

The 2025 series of dates is aptly titled The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour, named after The Who’s 1971 classic song.

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend announced the news during a press conference at the Iconic Images gallery in Piccadilly, London, on Thursday.

“Musical freedom! Rock gave us a feeling of generational rebellion. To me, America has always been great,” Daltrey said. “The cultural differences had a huge impact on me, this was the land of the possible. It’s not easy to end the big part of my life that touring with The Who has been. Thanks for being there for us and look forward to seeing you one last time.”

“Well, all good things must come to an end. It is a poignant time. For me, playing to American audiences and those in Canada has always been incredible,” Townshend added. “I must say that although the road has not always been enjoyable for me, it is usually easy: the best job I could ever have had. I keep coming back. Every time I do, I meet new fans and feel new energy. Roger and I are in a good place, despite our age, eager to throw our weight behind this fond farewell to all our faithful fans, and hopefully to new ones who might jump in to see what they have been missing for the last 57 years. This tour will be about fond memories, love and laughter. Make sure you join in.”

Tickets will be available starting with a Citi presale and through the Who Fan Club beginning on May 13th. Additional pre-sales will run throughout the week ahead of the general on-sale beginning on May 16th at 10 am local time at thewho.com/tour.

Paul McCartney Shares New Details About Upcoming Book ‘Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run’

Paul McCartney has shared new details about his upcoming book, “Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run,” revealing the cover and an excerpt of the foreword.

“Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run,” about McCartney’s famous group Wings, is set to arrive on November 4th.

The book, which is compiled from over 42 hours of brand-new interviews, as well as historical and some previously unheard interviews from Paul’s archive, also features around 150 photographs – mostly unseen – capturing the group across several years.

The pictures were taken by Linda McCartney, Mike McCartney, Clive Arrowsmith, Henry Diltz, Robert Ellis and Paul himself.

Some of Paul’s diary page entries from the time and handwritten lyrics also form part of the book.

According to a description, the book is “a landmark account of Paul McCartney’s triumphant musical reinvention in the 1970s and the subsequent rise of one of the decade’s most iconic bands – told by Paul and the people who were there.”

The cover of the book shows members Paul, Linda, Denny Laine, Henry McCullough and Denny Seiwell together while on tour in Spain in 1972.

A new excerpt of the foreword, written by McCartney, reads, “Suddenly Wings has found its moment. We have a generational shift at work, and it’s like being transported back on a magic carpet. Working on the book has awakened so many beautiful memories of our times back then.”

McCartney his wife Linda formed Wings in 1971. The group saw a meteoric rise throughout the decade before disbanding in 1981. Wings sold over 22 million albums worldwide, went on successful tours and earned many No. 1 hits, including “Band on the Run,” “My Love” and the Oscar-nominated James Bond theme “Live and Let Die.”

Bruce Springsteen Shares ‘Faithless’ From Unreleased Film Soundtrack

Bruce Springsteen recently released “Faithless,” a song originally recorded as the title track for a soundtrack of a film that was never made.

The song is now set to feature on Springsteen’s upcoming compilation Tracks II: The Lost Albums, due out on June 27th via Sony Music.

Springsteen had recorded much of “Faithless” for a film described as a “spiritual Western,” between the conclusion of his “Devils & Dust” tour in November 2005 and the release of “We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions” in April 2006.

The song explores Springsteen’s unique vision of spirituality in the mythic American West, while working inside of this uncharted artistic medium.

“This was a really unusual collection of songs,” Springsteen remembers about the album’s tracks. “You could recognize details and maybe a character or two. But for the most part, I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit.”

“Faithless” is the third song to be shared from Tracks II: The Lost Albums. He previously released “Rain in the River” from the lost album Perfect World and “Blind Spot” from Streets of Philadelphia Sessions.

Tracks II: The Lost Albums will also include Springsteen’s never-heard full-length records Somewhere North of Nashville, Inyo, Twilight Hours and LA Garage Sessions ’83.

The Tracks II: The Lost Albums set will arrive in limited-edition nine LP, seven CD and digital formats — including distinctive packaging for each previously-unreleased record and a 100-page cloth-bound, hardcover book featuring rare archival photos, liner notes on each lost album from essayist Erik Flannigan and a personal introduction on the project from Springsteen himself.
