U2 Release Standalone 6-Track EP ‘Days Of Ash’

On Ash Wednesday, legendary rock band U2 released a brand new standalone 6-track EP, U2 – Days Of Ash.

In advance of a new album in late 2026, the U2 – Days Of Ash EP is a self-contained collection of five new songs and a poem – “American Obituary”, “The Tears Of Things”, “Song Of The Future”, “Wildpeace”, “One Life At A Time” and “Yours Eternally” (ft. Ed Sheeran & Taras Topolia) – an immediate response to current events and inspired by the many extraordinary and courageous people fighting on the frontlines of freedom.

Four of the five tracks are about individuals – a mother, a father, a teenage girl whose lives were brutally cut short – and a soldier who’d rather be singing but is ready to die for the freedom of his country.

“It’s been a thrill having the four of us back together in the studio over the last year,’ explains U2 founding member Bono. “The songs on Days of Ash are very different in mood and theme to the ones we’re going to put on our album later in the year. These EP tracks couldn’t wait; these songs were impatient to be out in the world. They are songs of defiance and dismay…”

“Who needs to hear a new record from us?” asks Larry Mullen Jr. “It just depends on whether we’re making music we feel deserves to be heard. I believe these new songs stand up to our best work. We talk a lot about when to release new tracks. You don’t always know… the way the world is now feels like the right moment.”

U2 – Days Of Ash is available to listen to here, while six lyric videos for the songs are available here.

Dee Snider Assures Fans He’s ‘Not Dying’ After Resigning From Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has assured his fans that he’s “not dying” after the legendary rock band recently canceled their planned 50th-anniversary concerts after Snider resigned, citing health issues.

Snider recently shared a video on the Facebook page of his long-running “House Of Hair” radio show in which he said, “Hey, everybody. It’s me, Dee Snider, and I’m not dying. No, not never – I mean, we’re all dying, but not immediately.”

“My announcement about canceling the tour for health reasons, problems with my heart, arthritis, things like that, the rumors have run wild that I am on my deathbed,” he continued. “I am not. I just can’t do those things that I did in my twenties, thirties, forties, fifties and even sixties. All right? Otherwise, I’m alive and well. I’m enjoying life. I’m here for the ‘House Of Hair.’ I’m directing a movie. I’ll be writing things.”

The band announced plans for a 50th anniversary tour in September, dubbed “Twisted Forever, Forever Twisted.” In February, though, they pulled the plug over Snider’s health issues.

“Due to the sudden and unexpected resignation of Twisted Sister’s lead singer Dee Snider brought on by a series of health challenges, the band has been forced to cancel all shows scheduled,” they said at the time. “A lifetime of legendarily aggressive performing has taken its toll on Dee Snider’s body and soul. Adding insult to injury, Dee has recently found out the level of intensity he has dedicated to his life’s work has taken its toll on his heart as well. He can no longer push the boundaries of rock ‘n’ roll fury like he has done for decades.”

On this day in 1972 – Harry Nilsson’s ‘Without You’ Hits Number One

On this day in 1972 – Harry Nilsson started a four-week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with his version of the Badfinger song ‘Without You.’ He had heard Badfinger’s recording at a party and mistook it for a Beatles song. After realising it was not, he decided to cover the song for his 1971 album Nilsson Schmilsson. He wanted his version of the song to be a stark, but producer Richard Perry convinced him to turn it into a grand, crashing, theatrical monster-ballad, complete with orchestra. His vocal was recorded in a single take and his performance was rewarded with Nilsson’s second Grammy Award. Talking Heads Unveil 1975 ‘Psycho Killer’ Demo

Talking Heads recently released a raw 1975 demo of their classic song, “Psycho Killer.”

The raw version is the latest preview of the band’s upcoming archival release, Tentative Decisions: Demos & Live.

One of the earliest recordings by the original trio of David Byrne, Chris Frantz, and Tina Weymouth, the version retains the iconic bassline of the final release but lacks the electric guitar flourishes that Jerry Harrison would later add.

The 1975 demo was recorded at CBS Studios during a session that produced rough cuts of several other songs from Talking Heads’ first two albums, including “Don’t Worry About the Government,” “The Book I Read,” “Thank You for Sending Me an Angel,” and “Stay Hungry.”

Tentative Decisions: Demos & Live continues a series of archival releases launched last year in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary.

St. Louis CITY SC Unveil New Kit Honoring Tina Turner

St. Louis CITY SC has unveiled The Tina Turner Kit, an historic collaboration with Adidas honoring the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll and her deep ties to St. Louis.

The MLS team’s homage to Tina Turner marks the first Adidas collaboration with a female music artist on a kit across global sport and includes a number of cultural events to celebrate her impact on St. Louis, including a concert with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO), a Tina-focused pop-up shop, and a music-themed community education initiative for youth and young adults.

Born Anna Mae Bullock, Tina Turner moved to St. Louis at 16, where she found her voice performing in clubs across the region before becoming a global force – redefining performance, style, and female power on her own terms. Her story of reinvention and resilience mirrors the ethos of the city that shaped her.

Inspired by Turner’s electrifying stage presence, The Tina Turner Kit shimmers in gold – echoing the movement of her glamorous attire and the energy of her live performances. Her silhouette appears in metallic gold on the kit’s authentication tag, while her signature, rendered in CITY Red, nods to her iconic lipstick and nails.

Designed in partnership with Adidas and BMG, custodians of Turner’s music and image rights, the kit will serve as CITY SC’s secondary jersey for the 2026 and 2027 Major League Soccer seasons.

“Not only did Tina Turner change music, she impacted culture over decades and continues to permeate it today,” said Carolyn Kindle, CEO, St. Louis CITY SC. “It is a profound honor to celebrate her influence and legacy. St. Louis has long been home to so many artists who have shaped music history and Tina stands at the top of that list.”

“Eternal: A Tribute to Tina Turner presented by Purina,” a Tina Turner tribute performance by the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, will take place at Powell Hall at the Jack C. Taylor Music Center at 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 15th.
