Oskaloosa hosted its invitational cross country meet Tuesday (9/14) at Edmundson Golf Course. In the boys’ race, Danville finished first with Grinnell third, Oskaloosa fourth, Pella Christian fifth, Albia seventh, Newton in eighth place, Knoxville tenth, followed by Ottumwa and EBF. Individually, Oskaloosa’s Patrick DeRonde was in second place, nine seconds behind Danville’s Patrick Carr. Newton’s Treycen Garton was in fourth place, Ottumwa’s Asa Canny was 12th, Seth Walraven of Knoxville 13th, Albia’s Ethan Stalzer 14th, Kaden Van Wyngarden of Pella Christian was 15th overall, Kiran Jones of Grinnell finished 20th and Sam Seddon of EBF was 32nd.
In the girls’ race, Williamsburg was first, followed by Albia and Newton. Ottumwa was sixth, Oskaloosa seventh, Grinnell eighth, Knoxville tenth and EBF 11th. Rylee Dunkin of Twin Cedars was the girls’ champion, followed by Joslyn Terpstra of Pella Christian. Alyssa Shannon of Newton finished fourth, Serene Thompson of Albia eighth, Oskaloosa’s Sage Adam was ninth overall, Thea Larsson of Grinnell was tenth, Jasmine Luedtke of Ottumwa 11th, Natalie Collins of Knoxville was 39th and Katelynn Glenn of EBF was 59th.
