Pella Police are investigating a man that witnesses say took pictures of high school age girls who were jogging. Last Friday morning, police received a call from a Pella business about someone suspicious who was in their parking lot taking pictures. Police weren’t able to find the man that day, but did later after more tips came in over the weekend. Pella Police released a statement saying they’ve interviewed the man and they’re checking his story.
The University of Iowa has launched a new program that offers temporary housing for students who have lease gaps. The university’s lease-gap program provides students with rooms at a rate of $35 per night from now until Saturday. 40 students are currently taking advantage of the plan. Charles Tassell of the National Real Estate Investors Association says lowa City’s gaps between leases ending this month and beginning August 1 is common in college towns nationwide. Towa’s program is based on a program that launched at lowa State University last year.
