The Class 4A and 5A regional pairings have been released for softball and Oskaloosa landed yet another top seed.
In Class 4A Region 5, Osky will host either Washington or Central Dewitt on Saturday, July 8th at 7 PM. If they win that game, they’ll play in the regional final. The team on the other side of the bracket with the bye is Burlington, who will face either North Scott or Clear Creek-Amana in the semifinals. The Region 5 Final will be at the highest remaining seed on Tuesday, July 11th at 7 PM.
In Region 3 in Class 4A, Pella will have to go on the road to face conference foe Norwalk in the first round on Thursday, July 6th at 7 PM. Winner of that game will face Carlisle on July 8th on the road in the semifinals. The top seed in that bracket is Perry.
Grinnell is in Class 4A Region 7, and the Tigers will have to travel to face Cedar Rapids Xavier on Thursday, July 6th in the first round. The winner will play ADM in Adel on July 8th. Mount Pleasant is the top seed in Region 7.
Region 8 in Class 4A pairs up Newton and Knoxville. The Cardinals will host that contest on Thursday, July 6th at 7 PM. Winner of that game will face the top seed in the bracket, Winterset, on July 8th on the road.
Ottumwa is the only Class 5A area team. They’ll host Des Moines Roosevelt in the semifinals of Class 5A Region 1 on July 8th at 7 PM. Waukee is the top team in the region and will face either Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson or Sioux City West in the other semifinal.
