The Tom Petty Estate has launched a new multi-part audio series, One On One: The Official Tom Petty Podcast.

The podcast, which celebrates the life and music of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, traces the evolution of the late singer’s ascend from his earliest years to the iconic band Heartbreakers’ lasting impact on musicians.

The launch coincides with the celebrations marking Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ 50th anniversary and the long-awaited comprehensive new box set, Origins 1971-1978. The podcast features some of Tom’s best-known fans discussing the single song from his back catalogue that means the most to them.

The first episode, featuring The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers, is available now. The series, commissioned by the Tom Petty Estate, produced by Cup & Nuzzle, and hosted by BBC 6 Music’s Matt Everitt, includes some world-exclusive interviews with iconic musicians such as Flowers, Brandi Carlile, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel, Dhani Harrison, Lucinda Williams, Kevin Morby and Margo Price, as well as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench.
