Oskaloosa–Emily Brown (Jr., Waverly, Iowa, Biology) saved her best ball for the final week of the campaign as she was named Heart of America Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week Monday.
Brown collected her first weekly nod after putting up gaudy numbers for William Penn (24-29, 12-22 Heart) against Culver-Stockton and Graceland.
The junior hit .692 (8-for-13), including three doubles and three home runs with 12 RBIs and eight runs. She also drew three walks. Her week was highlighted by going 3-for-3 against Graceland on Wednesday, crushing two homers with six RBIs and three runs scored in the opener. Brown was also impressive in the nightcap with four hits, four RBIs, and three runs.
For the year, Brown owned a .350 batting average (55-for-157) with 11 doubles, five home runs, 33 RBIs, and 24 runs scored.
The honor is the first for William Penn this season.
