During Foo Fighters’ show at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, Tasmania, over the weekend, frontman Dave Grohl confirmed that the band have finished a new album.
“We might have a whole new record of songs that we just finished the other day,” he told the crowd.
The show on Saturday (January 24) as part of Foo Fighters’ “Take Cover Tour,” marked the band’s first Tasmanian performance in more than a decade and their debut concert in the state’s second-largest city.
The new record would be a follow-up to Foo Fighters’ 2023 album But Here We Are.
Grohl also hinted strongly that the band will be back in Australia sometime soon. “This won’t be the last time you see us,” he said. “We’ll be back here sooner than you think⦠and it’s before my next birthday.”
Grohl’s birthday falls on January 14, suggesting Foo Fighters could return to Australia before the end of 2026, though no official tour dates have yet been announced.
