The Cure recently released a new EP, A Fragile Thing, which features a live version of the single as well as a remix by Robert Smith.
The original “Fragile Thing” track appears on The Cure’s 14th studio album, Songs Of A Lost World, which arrived earlier in November.
The four-track A Fragile Thing EP features a live performance of the single from the launch show that took place at the Troxy in London on November 1. The EP also contains “A Fragile Thing – RS24 Remix” by frontman Robert Smith and a shortened audio edit of the original version.
“Thank you again to everyone for helping make the Troxy London night so special – in the room and around the world,” The Cure wrote to announce the release of the EP and the global live-stream of the gig.
The group also said that the live recording was mixed by Smith himself.
Smith had explained in October that “A Fragile Thing” was about “how love is the most enduring of emotion. It’s the most powerful emotion, and it’s incredibly resilient. And yet at the same time, incredibly fragile.”
