COLFAX – North Mahaska kept their South Iowa Cedar League record perfect with a three-set win at Colfax-Mingo Tuesday. North Mahaska defeated the Tigerhawks 25-13, 25-16 and 25-17. It was the fifth win against Class 2A or higher this season. North Mahaska and Colfax-Mingo are the lone 2A schools in the SICL.
North Mahaska easily handled the Tigerhawks through the first two sets, but CM battled better in the third. North Mahaska’s middle and outside hitters was able to control the net. The Tigerhawks struggled at the service line hitting just 82 percent with six aces.
CM was led offensively by Trinity Smith with eight kills. Kaylee Collins and Katelyn Steenhoek had six and five digs respectively. Steenhoek doled out 11 assists and Candace Linn had two aces.
North Mahaska stats were not available on Bound at press time. North Mahaska (13-1) hosts HLV Thursday.
