Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’ ‘Long After Dark’ Getting Deluxe Reissue

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers are set to reissue a new deluxe edition of 1982’s Long After Dark.

In addition to the remastered original album, the set boasts 12 re-discovered tracks and seven previously unreleased songs. Long After Dark deluxe edition will be released via Geffen/UMe on October 18th.

“Long After Dark, we thought we had it,” Jimmy Iovine said in a statement. “Sounded like [Bob Dylan’s] ‘Positively Fourth Street,’ sounded like one of those records, you know. By the way, I think it is!”

Long After Dark is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ fifth studio album. It was released on November 2, 1982 via Backstreet Records. The album was also the band’s first to feature Howie Epstein on bass and harmony vocals.
