OFFBEAT NEWS:
A Man Is Trying To Sell A Giant Piece Of Cereal For $1,250
A man may have lucked into $1,250 thanks to his cereal choice. Englishman Steven Marriott was pouring his son a bowl of Kellogg’s Bran Flakes when a massive 5.5-inch by 4-inch flake came out.
“It’s definitely bran flake material but I didn’t fancy eating it,” Marriott says. “It is being kept in the cupboard at the moment but I am not sure what we are going to do with it.”
It turns out another person sold a massive piece of cereal and made over $1-thousand, so he’s considering putting it on eBay. In the meantime, Marriott sent a photo to Kellogg’s and is waiting to see if they give him a free box of cereal. The company did release a statement congratulating Marriott on finding a “super Bran Flake” and asked to be kept in the loop if it ends up being a world record breaker.

Bus Driver Traps Criminal Inside, Drives To Police Station
A bus driver in Colombia turned into a hero after he helped catch a crook. In case you missed it, a man stole from a fellow passenger on the unnamed driver’s bus and tried to get off. As the man tried to flee, the driver closed the doors on his torso, trapping him.
At first, people outside tried to pry the doors open, but passengers who had seen what happened told them to stop. The driver then diverted from his route and instead drove straight to the police station.
Ultimately, the female victim who had her phone stolen decided not to press charges.

Another Person Had A Live Cockroach Removed From Their Head
Don’t panic, but it seems like cockroaches are getting way too comfortable with humans. Days after a woman had a cockroach removed from inside her skull, a man had one removed from his ear canal.
This time around a 60-year-old man in China had been trying to kill and remove the bug for three days before going to the doctor. He put pesticide in his ear until it stopped moving, then used tweezers and toothpicks to try and remove it.
When he went to the doctor, they had to perform surgery to remove it.

STUPID CRIMINALS:
Drunken bus driver leaves basketball team stranded:
The Saint Louis University men’s basketball team can’t catch a break. They lost their game to New York’s St. Bonaventure University then, when they tried to go home, their bus was nowhere to be found. It turns out driver Linda Edmister was 40-miles away…and drunk. After her blood alcohol level was found to be four times the legal limit for a commercial driver, she was charged with driving while intoxicated. Another bus then took the team to their original bus so the team could get their stuff. They were then taken to the airport in nearby Bradford, Pennsylvania, for the return flight to St. Louis.
Man fakes kidnapping to get money from his grandma:
Desperation makes people do stupid things. Take Preston Kelley for example. The 23-year-old from Florence, Alabama texted his grandmother a photo that appeared to show him bound and beaten in a wooded area in Tennessee. He reportedly told her he needed $1-thousand or he’d be killed. The astute grandmother contacted police, who discovered the entire story was a hoax. Kelley was arrested later that day in Alabama, and charged with first-degree extortion. For what it’s worth, he maintains that he was kidnapped.
