OSKALOOSA — Breck Putzier (Jr., Minneapolis, Minn., Exercise Science) parlayed the most prolific outing of his career into a national award as he was named NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday.
The national accolade is Putzier’s second of the year and third of his career (also one in 2022).
He netted the honor after accounting for 17 points in a 33-4 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene last Thursday. In the victory, the junior scored 10 goals (tying a school record) and assisted seven times as he finished with a new program record for points, breaking his old record from 2023.
Following his team’s win over Columbia on Wednesday, Putzier now has 47 goals and 56 assists for 103 points. He has 145 shots (81 on goal), while also recording 41 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers.
The award is the third for William Penn this year.
