New Restaurant Lets Diners Eat Underwater With Food Served By Scuba Divers
Sick of your regular, above water restaurants? Belgian restaurant The Peal might be for you. Diners eat food delivered in sealed cases delivered by scuba divers in a airtight pod.
“It was a wonderful experience,” one diner said after returning to the surface. “It was the first time in our life that we ate underwater, which was really fun. It’s a unique dinner and we will remember this all our life.”
If you want to dive in for your meal of foie gras, lobster salad, champagne and more, it’ll cost you $106 a person.

Bridge Construction Halted Because Of A Hummingbird
California’s Richmond-San Rafael Bridge is due for $70-million worth of upgrades that will enable bike riders to get across in both directions and add a third traffic lane on the lower deck. All that work is going to have to wait, all thanks to a pesky hummingbird.
Workers discovered a nest and an egg ready to hatch and since hummingbirds are protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, construction has to be delayed. According to Randy Rentschler from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, work will be pushed back a couple of weeks.
Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time an animal has caused a headache for construction crews. In fact, Rentschler says big projects often run in to conservation issues. He remembers protecting nesting birds and fish caused long delays in the take down of the old Bay Bridge, costing tens of millions of dollars.

Ferret Has Successful Pacemaker Surgery
Carl Hobi brought his pet ferret Zelda to the Veterinary Health Center, which is part of Kansas State University, after noticing she had unusually low energy. Vets determined Zelda had a third degree block in her heart. After running some tests, Zelda was determined to be a good candidate for a pacemaker.
The pacemaker had to be specially ordered because of Zelda’s small size, but the surgery was a success. Now, Zelda is at home resting and should enjoy a normal ferret lifespan, which is between six and 10 years.
Probably not surprisingly, this is the first time Kansas State University has implanted a pacemaker in a ferret.

Alexander and 17-year-old Cheese made off with two pizzas and $25. Due to the nature of the crime, both teenagers are being charged as adults. Source: Penn Live
Man tries to hide a ton of moonshine in water jugs:
It’s unclear why Joe Edwards III was pulled over, but Alachua County found a treasure trove of booze in his car. A treasure trove of moonshine, to be exact. All in all, Edwards had 24 gallons of the “white lightning” in his trunk, hidden in water jugs that were then put into water bottle boxes. He’s now facing moving or concealing beverages with the intent to defraud state tax, unapproved container and possession of moonshine whiskey charges.
