IOWA CITY — The Iowa women’s basketball team fell to Kansas State, 65-58, on Thursday night inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa dropped to 3-1 on the season.

All-American Caitlin Clark finished with a team-high 24 points and six rebounds. She scored 10 of her points in the third quarter. Molly Davis ended with 10 points for the Hawkeyes.

The score was tied at 13 after one period with both teams shooting below 35 percent from the field. There were six lead changes and five ties in the first half.

After leading by one at the half, the Hawkeyes responded to a seven-point scoring run by the Wildcats with a nine-point run to close out the third quarter.

The Wildcats went on a 12-0run in the last 2:22, taking the final lead with just over a minute left in the game.

Hannah Stuelke finished with 11 rebounds with Kate Martin and Sharron Goodman collecting eight a piece.

POSTGAME NOTES
– It was Iowa’s 11th sellout in program history.
– Clark has netted a 3-point basket in 62 consecutive games which is an NCAA-best.
– It was Sydney Affolter’s first start for the Hawkeyes in her 60th career game.
– No. 2 Iowa is the highest ranked Big Ten foe to ever play Kansas State, besting UI’s fourth ranked squad from a season ago when these teams met.
