The Rolling Stones recently released “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” the second single from their upcoming album Hackney Diamonds, due October 20 via Geffen Records.
“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” features a vocal performance by Lady Gaga, alongside Stevie Wonder on Fender Rhodes, Moog and piano.
The track was recorded at Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; and Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas and written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
During sessions in Los Angeles, the Rolling Stones and producer Andrew Watt invited Wonder and Gaga to work on “Heaven.”
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Jagger called Gaga “a really great singer,” adding that he had “never heard her sing quite that style before” when recording “Sweet Sounds of Heaven.”
“No, I’m not, not goin’ to Hell/ In some dusty motel,” the duo sings. “And I’m not, not goin’ down/ In the dirt,” Gaga sings in the chorus.
