One of the founding members of Bachman Turner Overdrive has passed away. Singer/guitarist Tim Bachman died Friday just three after his brother, and BTO drummer, Robbie Bachman died at 69. Tim was 71.
“My Dad passed this afternoon,” wrote Tim’s son, Ryder, on social media. “Thank you everyone for the kind words. Grateful I got to spend some time with him at the end. Grab yer loved ones and hug em close, ya never know how long you have.”
BTO was also made up of Tim and Robbie’s older brother Randy Bachman and bassist C.F. “Fred” Turner.
The Bachman Brothers played together in Brave Belt, which, after poor record sales on their second album, ultimately became BTO in 1973. Tim withdrew from the band in 1974, becoming a promoter and realtor until his death.
