The city of Oskaloosa announced that beginning the weekend of September 10th, surveys will be conducted with citizens of Oskaloosa to collect data for grant applications for upcoming long term projects; namely, the planned construction of a new wastewater treatment plant in compliance with the Iowa DNR’s mandates. We spoke with Sean Murphy, Senior Engineer Technician for the city, who explained what the survey is.
The city says that the grant applications are important with construction estimates on the rise. The survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete and includes 3 simple questions to be answered:
- How many people live in the household.
- Whether the household income is above or below a set dollar amount.
- Whether you support the project.
Surveyors will begin going door-to-door the weekend of September 10th and will conduct surveys during the following two weekends as well. For questions or more information, contact Sean Murphy at 641-673-7472 or check out the city’s Facebook post detailing the survey.
