Oskaloosa High’s baseball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to Indianola Thursday night (6/23) in Oskaloosa. In the first game, Indianola held on for a 2-1 victory as Osky’s Landon Briggs was thrown out at home plate trying to score the tying run on a single with two out in the bottom of the seventh. Alex Christ took the loss. Then in game two, Indianola beat Oskaloosa 8-4 as Brady Blake homered and drove in three runs for the winners. Oskaloosa’s Charlie North had three hits and drove in three runs with a fifth inning triple. Jarrett Czerwinski took the loss. Oskaloosa has now lost six in a row and drops to 7-17 overall and 2-13 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Osky is off until Monday (6/27), when they play a doubleheader at Pella Christian.
Switching to softball, seventh ranked Indianola swept a doubleheader from Oskaloosa Thursday at Jay Harms Field. Indy raced past Oskaloosa 14-1 in five innings in the first game and 8-1 in the nightcap. Oskaloosa is now 8-17 overall and 5-12 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Osky will host an invitational Saturday (6/25) at Jay Harms Field with the Indians facing East Marshall at 9:30am, and then North Polk at 1:00
