Oskaloosa’s softball team swept a doubleheader at Pella Monday night (6/6). The Indians took the first game 7-2 as Presley Blommers had two hits and three runs batted in; Faith DeRonde was the winning pitcher. DeRonde started game two with a home run on the first pitch. Alexis Price also went deep as Osky took the nightcap 15-0 in six innings. Shannon Van Rheenen got the game two victory with a two-hitter. The Indians are now 5-5 overall and 3-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Oskaloosa hosts Albia Tuesday night (6/7) in a non-conference game. Switching to high school baseball, Oskaloosa and Pella split a doubleheader Monday in Pella. Oskaloosa won the first game 4-0 as Carson Genskow drove in two runs and stole three bases. Alex Christ and Logan Hoskinson combined on a two-hit shutout. Pella took the second game 11-1 in five innings. The Indians are now 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the Conference. Oskaloosa’s baseball team plays at Mount Pleasant Tuesday night.
