The Phil Lynott documentary Songs For While I’m Away is being paired with the Thin Lizzy live concert film Thin Lizzy The Boys Are Back in Town Live At The Sydney Opera House October 1978 in a new box set that will arrive on June 24 via Mercury Studios.
Songs For While I’m Away, which chronicles the life and music of Lynott, features archival footage, interviews and music from both the Thin Lizzy and Lynott solo catalog.
Conversations with Midge Ure, Darren Wharton, Scott Gorham, Adam Clayton, Huey Lewis, James Hetfield and more, as well as Phil’s wife Caroline Taraskevics and daughters Sarah Lynott and Cathleen Lynott are all there in the doc.
The new version of The Boys Are Back In Town Live features cleaned up video and remixed audio from multi tracks as well as five additional songs that have never been officially released. The songs are “Warriors,” “Don’t Believe a Word,” “Still in Love With You,” “Johnny the Fox Meets Jimmy the Weed” and “Suicide.”
The box set will be available as a 2xDVD+CD and Blu-ray+ DVD+ CD (with the Phil Lynott documentary on the Blu-ray).
