Sunday (4/24) was Senior Day for the William Penn University softball team, but it may have felt like Groundhog Day as the Statesmen lost both ends of a doubleheader to Culver-Stockton by the same score: 2-1. OK, the games weren’t completely identical, as the first game took ten innings. That ended the Statesmen’s eight game winning streak. The Statesmen are now 14-10 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference and 21-17 overall. The Statesmen are back in action Tuesday (4/26) with a doubleheader at Grand View.
Saturday (4/23) was Senior Day for the Statesmen baseball team…and they won both ends of their doubleheader over Graceland….10-2 and 8-2. The Statesmen improved to 13-15 in the Conference and 24-18 overall. They’re off until Friday (4/29), when they travel to Mount Mercy for a doubleheader.
A new record for the Statesmen men’s track team. Sophomore Loubert Dagrin broke his own record in the 110 hurdles during a meet in Pittsburg, Kansas Saturday. Dagrin’s new record time is 13.99 seconds, shaving 1/100 of a second off his old record.
