Oskaloosa’s boys’ track team placed fifth at a meet at Mid-Prairie in Wellman Tuesday (4/19). The Indians’ Riley Humphrey was first in the high jump, with Patrick DeRonde second in the 800 and Tatum Westercamp second in the 110 hurdles. The Indians will be at a co-ed meet in Newton on Thursday (4/21).
The Indians’ girls’ golf team hosted a four team meet at Edmundson Golf Course Tuesday. Newton was in first place, followed by Indianola, Grinnell and Oskaloosa. Rylee Heryford of Newton was medalist with a 41 score. Emerson Lee and Amelia Meador of Oskaloosa tied for ninth with both shooting 54.
Meanwhile, Osky’s boys’ golfers competed at Newton Tuesday. Dallas Center-Grimes won the meet, with Pella second, Pella Christian third, Oskaloosa and Newton tied for fourth and Grinnell sixth. Pella’s Will Simpson was medalist with a 77. Eliot Menninga of Pella Christian finished third with an 80. Osky’s Johnathon Terpstra shot an 81 and finished fourth.
Moving to the tennis courts, Oskaloosa’s girls defeated Pella Christian 6-5 on Tuesday. The Indians got singles wins from Lucy Roach, Presley Blommers, Abby Drost and Autumn DeRonde, with Roach and Blommers and Drost and DeRonde combining for doubles victories. Osky is 2-2 in girls’ tennis on the year.
On the boys’ side, Pella Christian defeated Oskaloosa 9-2.
Both of Oskaloosa’s soccer teams lost to Norwalk Tuesday. The boys score was 4-0, while Norwalk beat the Indians girls 13-0.
