A memorable season for William Penn’s men’s volleyball team just keeps getting better. Statesmen right side hitter Landon Krause has been named not only a first team NAIA All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, but also the NAIA National Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year. The sophomore from Appleton, Wisconsin is the first All-American in the brief history of the Statesmen men’s volleyball program. He ranked second in the nation during the regular season with a .384 hitting percentage. Statesmen outside hitter Ike Papes was named to the NAIA second team All-America list with middle blocker Charlie Figy getting honorable mention. The Statesmen men’s volleyball team opens play at the NAIA national tournament in West Des Moines Wednesday (4/13) against Campbellsville.
