The unseasonal weather has put a damper on several high school sporting events this season. For example, Thursday’s (4/7) Oskaloosa Relays boys and girls track meet has been postponed—with no word yet on a makeup date.
Wednesday’s (4/6) William Penn softball doubleheader against Grand View was also postponed. It will be made up on April 22. The Statesmen will host Missouri Valley in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon (4/9).
The Statesmen men’s lacrosse team routed Missouri Baptist 19-2 Wednesday in St. Louis. Freshman Breck Putzier, fresh off being named NAIA national men’s offensive player of the week, scored five goals with six assists for William Penn. Marcus Glass also scored five goals, as the Statesmen improve to 10-4 overall and 6-3 in KCAC play. The Statesmen’s final regular season game is next Tuesday, April 12 at Columbia, Missouri.
