William Penn’s men’s volleyball team advanced in the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament Wednesday (3/30). The sixth-ranked Statesmen defeated ninth-ranked Park three sets to one at Penn Activities Center. Park won the first set 25-21, then the Statesmen finished off the match: 25-22, 25-20 and 25-18. Sophomore Landon Krause led the Statesmen attack with 21 kills and gave credit to setter Connor Muff.
“Me and Muff, our setter, we had a great connection tonight. It’s good to see late in the season. You ought to be hitting your stride late in the season, like we were.”
Krause also had three blocks for William Penn Wednesday. The Statesmen are now 23-6 on the season. They’ll play at top-ranked Grand View Saturday afternoon (4/2) at 2 for the Conference tournament championship.
