North Mahaska’s boys’ basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Sigourney 67-63 Thursday night (2/3) in Sigourney—snapping the Savages’ four game winning streak. Senior Lane Harmon made six free throws late in the game for North Mahaska to put them ahead to stay. Warhawks Coach Seth Streebin talks about the win.
“All year we’ve wanted our defense to be physical and have lots of pressure. And I feel like down the stretch, our pressure didn’t wear them down entirely, because they were still making shots. But made them just tired enough for us to take advantage of those misses, get rebounds and make free throws.”
Nash Smith had 24 points for North Mahaska, with Lane Harmon adding 21. Levi Crawford had 18 points for Sigourney. North Mahaska is now 15-4 overall, while Sigourney is 12-8.
